A haven overlooking the sea

Two tourist houses, nestled on a hillside overlooking the sea and surrounded by a field of banana trees: this is what the Eco Fajã Villas have to offer.

The sun rises in one corner of the field of vision and sets in the other. In other words, it keeps you company throughout the whole day at the Eco Fajã Villas, two tourist rental houses located in the middle of a landscape of banana trees overlooking the sea in Arco da Calheta.

Silence keeps you company in a space that is a retreat. Private access, comfort, high quality. The villas are equipped for extended stays. The kitchen is fully equipped, the two bedrooms are cosy and the leisure area is spacious and well laid out. There is a barbecue, an outdoor shower in the sunlight, and an infinity pool, which can be heated as an additional service.

Sustainability is the watchword. Waste management is careful, with a focus on renewable energy, organic compost production, and the use of non-polluting detergents. The slogan is to preserve the area, maintaining the idyllic image of the place. The sea is close by, just a few dozen steps away.

The Eco Fajã Villas interact with the local community. It offers boat trips, yoga classes, massages, Portuguese wine tasting and a painting workshop, taught by Joana Lopes, a Madeiran artist who paints the pictures that decorate the two houses, which are also for sale.

Check-in is personalised, with an explanation of the concept. Upon arrival, there is a welcome basket with wine and local products from Madeira, mainly fruit, such as bananas, which grow around the houses.

Another service available is breakfast, a personalised experience, provided in partnership with Socalco, an agro-hotel in Calheta. Naturally fermented bread, fruit, eggs, cheese, juice, or sparkling wine are served by a hotel team, who travel to the villa specifically for this task.

The location is one of the strengths of the Eco Fajã Villas. Calheta is one of the most vibrant tourist areas in Madeira. Most of the accommodation consists of small units and is a short distance from several tourist attractions in Madeira. In addition, this Madeiran riviera has an even milder climate than the average climate of Madeira, which is already mild.
