On April 24, the Brisa do Mar restaurant, at Reid’s Palace, A Belmond Hotel in Funchal, reopens with a four-hands dinner bringing together Chefs Zélia Santos and Noélia Jerónimo.
The event marks the beginning of the new season and proposes a meeting between two distinct culinary approaches, both deeply connected to Portugal. On one side is Madeira, as interpreted by Zélia Santos, with a focus on local ingredients and traditional techniques. On the other is the Algarve of Noélia Jerónimo, where the sea dictates the rhythm of the dishes.
The menu emerges from this intersection and travels across different regions of the country. The gastronomic experience begins with a fish soup, followed by lemon rice made with fish from the Mercado dos Lavradores, and also includes duck leg with regional couscous. To finish, a reinterpreted version of the classic sericaia alentejana is served. A selection of Portuguese wines, carefully chosen for each moment, accompanies the meal.
The evening begins at 7:30 pm with a welcome cocktail and canapés prepared by the Brisa do Mar Lounge team. There will also be live music by Tiago Sena Silva.
