These days, Praça do Povo has been transformed. Decorated with organic materials, a terrace and several stalls have been created, where twelve Madeira wine producers showcase their products. There are both fortified wines, which have helped make the island known worldwide, and lesser-known still wines.

Alongside the twelve producers' spaces, there is a terrace, a restaurant run by Chef Júlio Pereira's Kampo restaurant, and a space run by the Madeira Bartenders Association, where cocktails and wine can be sampled.

Every evening, there is a tasting dinner featuring Madeira wines, with chefs present. Music enlivens the space, starting at 9:30 pm.

The Wine Lounge is part of the Madeira Wine Festival program, one of the events on the Madeira Destination's tourism calendar. In this case, the goal is to showcase one of the region's main productions. The wines can be tasted by the glass and showcase Madeira's identity, especially the whites and reds, which are becoming increasingly popular.

The Wine Lounge is open until September 14th and welcomes hundreds of people every day.
