Reid’s Palace, A Belmond Hotel is once again celebrating the Flower Festival with its “Botanical Bliss” programme, focused on the 1891 Bar. The 2026 edition includes the launch of a new signature cocktail menu and a take over by The Argo on May 14 and 15.
The new 1891 Bar menu maintains its botanical concept, using local ingredients such as aromatic herbs, flowers, and fruits from Madeira. Among the nine new creations is the “Pérola do Atlântico,” combining Madeira rum, pineapple, gin, cinnamon, hibiscus, and tropical fruits. Returning favourites include Bis-Bis, Madeira Negroni, Fine Poncha, and Why Not?.
The official launch takes place on May 9, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with free entry. The event features three themed stations where the new cocktails will be prepared on the spot, accompanied by small bites.
The menu also introduces an organisation based on alcohol content, without explicitly separating alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails. The aim is to allow guests to choose more intuitively, while keeping the focus on mixology and creativity.
On May 14 and 15, The Argo bar will take over the 1891 Bar from 4:00 PM to midnight. The initiative brings cocktails from the Algarve bar’s menu to Funchal, along with collaborative creations developed with the local team. Entry is free and no reservation is required.
During the Botanical Bliss period, the hotel will also offer exclusive activities for guests, including mixology workshops, garden tours, and botanical art experiences.
