The perfume brand Água da Madeira, created in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, is one of the winners of the Brand Awards 2026, an initiative integrated into the international Expocosmética fair, regarded as the main event in the beauty sector across the Iberian Peninsula.
The distinction guarantees the brand’s participation in this year’s edition of Expocosmética, taking place from 11 to 13 April at Exponor – Porto International Fair, where it will present its project to professionals in the cosmetics, perfumery and beauty industries.
Founded by fragrance creator Myriam Wattiez, Água da Madeira is rooted in a deep connection to the island, seeking to translate the archipelago’s natural and cultural identity into scent. “Água da Madeira is my declaration of love to the island. My philosophy is simple: to create products with a strong Madeiran identity, following the highest standards of international perfumery,” she explains.
The brand currently has one fragrance on the market and is preparing to launch two new creations inspired by nature, endemic flowers and Madeira’s landscapes, further strengthening its olfactory universe.
The project combines artistic perfumery, design and scientific research, developed in partnership with the University of Madeira, focusing on the study of local flora and the olfactory potential of endemic species.
Promoted by Expocosmética, the Brand Awards recognise brands with less than seven years of activity that stand out for innovation, identity and communication strategy. Winners are selected by a specialised jury, with the aim of giving visibility to new projects in the sector.
For Água da Madeira, this recognition represents an important step in strengthening the brand, offering a valuable platform to connect with distributors, industry professionals and specialised media at both national and international levels.
