Bordal, a company dedicated to the production of Bordado Madeira, celebrates International Embroidery Day on July 30 with an unprecedented initiative: it will take over Rua Fernão de Ornelas, in front of its main store, to recreate the stages of Madeira Embroidery live. Between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM, the public will be able to witness, in real time, the design, perforation, stamping, embroidery, and cutting that define this centuries-old art.

The building’s façade will feature an installation with printed towels, creating a visual tribute to Bordado Madeira. In the afternoon, the doors of the factory-museum will open for free guided tours, revealing how this heritage has been kept alive through generations.

This event aims to highlight the work of Bordal, one of the most prestigious embroidery houses in Madeira, which still maintains the complete handmade process to this day, contributing to the continuity of embroidery as a defining art of the Madeira region.
