The offerings include sunset cruises, immersive visits to iconic locations and tours through the festive illuminations that fill Funchal with colour throughout December.
One of the standout suggestions is the Savoy Signature Christmas Cruise, available daily in the late afternoon until 28 December. The experience invites guests to embark on a private two-and-a-half-hour journey aboard the Singular Yacht, blending the festive atmosphere with the tranquillity of the Atlantic. The tour begins at the Savoy Palace and heads to Funchal Marina, where participants enjoy Christmas-inspired drinks and canapés prepared by the hotel’s chefs. Among the flavours on offer are aged Madeira rum, the Golden Rum Punch cocktail and traditional mulled wine. The activity takes place from 17:00 to 19:30, with departure from the hotel at 16:30, and costs €1,980 for two people, including private transfer and on-board service.
For those seeking a more intimate encounter with Madeiran traditions, Savoy Signature offers Madeira Christmas – The Local Way, available until 7 January 2026. The itinerary is carried out in a luxury vehicle and includes a stop at the Pico dos Barcelos Viewpoint, which offers a sweeping view over Funchal, before continuing along the mountain roads to Curral das Freiras. This village, known for its handmade nativity scenes and deep-rooted local traditions, provides a more tranquil and authentic experience of the Christmas season. The visit lasts approximately two hours, with flexible scheduling, and prices start at €221 per person, including traditional snacks and drinks.
Another proposal is the Christmas Lights Tour aboard Savoy Signature’s Rolls-Royce, created to showcase Funchal’s festive illuminations. The route passes through several of the city's most emblematic areas at this time of year, such as Avenida do Mar, Praça da Autonomia, Largo do Colégio and Rua 5 de Outubro, before concluding at the Nazaré Viewpoint, where the panoramic view over the city’s amphitheatre gains a special glow. The experience runs from 19:00 to 20:00 and is available until 7 January 2026, with prices from €132 per person. It does not take place on 23, 28 and 31 December due to traditional events held on those dates.
