Madeira has been recognised internationally once more, having been named the World's Best Emerging Golf Destination for the second consecutive year at the 12th edition of the World Golf Awards. This year's digital ceremony confirmed the archipelago's growing prestige on the global golf stage.

In addition to this distinction, Palheiro Golf was awarded World's Best Panoramic Clubhouse, while the Clube de Golf do Santo da Serra won the title of World's Best Par 3 Hole, further strengthening the Region's status as an exceptional destination for golf enthusiasts.

The Regional Secretary for Tourism, Environment and Culture and President of the Madeira Promotion Bureau, Eduardo Jesus, highlighted that this award is "a great honour and, above all, recognition of the consistent and continuous work that has been carried out to promote, enhance and communicate this sport in Madeira."

According to the Regional Secretary, the Region currently boasts three outstanding golf courses, designed by world-renowned names and perfectly integrated into Madeira's unique natural landscape. A fourth course is already under construction in Ponta do Pargo, a project designed by Nick Faldo, who was recently named World's Best Golf Course Designer. There are also plans to extend the Porto Santo course, initiatives that will further strengthen the archipelago's appeal as a premier golf destination.

Eduardo Jesus also underlined the strategic role of the Madeira Promotion Bureau, which, through initiatives such as the Madeira Golf Passport, has contributed to increasing the visibility and international recognition of the Region's tourism offering.

"Receiving this award once again is clear confirmation of the commitment we have made and also represents an added responsibility to continue positioning Madeira as a unique and world-class golf destination," said the Regional Secretary.

The World Golf Awards, part of the World Travel Awards, aim to celebrate excellence in golf tourism, recognising the finest golf courses, clubs, and destinations worldwide.

With these new distinctions, Madeira further reinforces its reputation as a complete and competitive golf destination, capable of rivaling the very best in the world.
