Savoy Palace is once again hosting the "Stars at Galáxia" gastronomic series at Galáxia Skyfood, which has brought some of Portugal's most renowned names in gastronomy to Madeira. The event takes place on the evening of September 12th, featuring João Sá, chef of the prestigious Sála restaurant in Lisbon, and recipient of a Michelin star.

The chef will create a signature dinner for just 40 guests, who will have the opportunity to savor a six-course tasting menu, combining refined technique, respect for ingredients, and a sensory approach that appeals to memories and emotions. Recognized for his work promoting Portuguese gastronomy, "the chef punctuates his creations with influences from Asian cuisine, designing each dish as a narrative that celebrates the essence of the product and invites you to explore your taste buds," says a press release from Savoy Signature.

Curated by Savoy Signature's corporate chef, Celestino Grave, and with the gastronomic hospitality of Galáxia Skyfood's resident chef, Roberto Barros, the evening offers a journey through flavors. Reservations can be made online. Dinner costs 150 euros per person. With wine pairings, dinner will cost 190 euros.

João Sá's passion for gastronomy was revealed early: at the age of 12, he was already organizing culinary events at school and, just two years later, he enrolled at the Estoril School of Hotel Management and Tourism. With a degree in Cooking and Pastry, he built a career that includes stints at renowned restaurants in Portugal and abroad, working with key names in Portuguese cuisine such as Fausto Airoli, Ljubomir Stanisic, and Nuno Mendes.

In 2024, Sála was awarded its first Michelin star, a recognition that reaffirms João Sá's track record of excellence and the uniqueness of his gastronomic vision.

Created to celebrate the intersection of talent, creativity, and gastronomic excellence, Estrelas no Galáxia transforms the Savoy Palace's fine dining restaurant, on the hotel's 16th floor, into a privileged venue to host Michelin-starred chefs, providing Madeira residents with top-notch Portuguese gastronomic experiences without leaving Funchal.
