The Reid’s Palace, a Belmond Hotel, Madeira, is launching the “Brunch at Reid’s”, a weekly Sunday experience available every Sunday from 12:00 to 4 p.m., at a cost of €60 per person. The service includes a welcome drink and is accompanied by live music, in a setting overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
The menu is presented in buffet format and combines traditional Madeiran flavours with elements of international cuisine. Ingredients used include local and seasonal produce such as fennel, banana, papaya and passion fruit. The offering also features live cooking stations, with the preparation of prego sandwiches on bolo do caco bread and pork sandwiches with vinha d’alhos marinade.
The brunch also includes options typically associated with this type of meal, reinterpreted with regional products, such as Eggs Benedict with butter and Madeira wine sauce, or sweet potato pancakes with sugar cane syrup. Desserts feature traditional sweets including passion fruit pudding, honey cake and queijadas. According to the hotel, the menu will vary each Sunday.
Located on a cliff overlooking the Atlantic, Reid’s Palace has 91 rooms and 35 suites set within approximately 10 hectares of subtropical gardens, a short distance from Funchal’s city centre. The hotel features several dining venues, including the Michelin-starred William Restaurant, Ristorante Villa Cipriani and Brisa do Mar.
The hotel also offers bars, a tea library, freshwater and seawater swimming pools, tennis courts, a spa, a fitness centre and a children’s club. Reid’s Palace is part of the Belmond brand and continues to operate as a historic hotel on the island of Madeira.
