Savoy Signature heats up Madeira’s summer with the return of Fire Pit

Open-air gastronomic experiences return with guest chefs, live-fire cooking, music, and local flavors between Terreiro and Saccharum.

The Savoy Signature group is preparing to welcome summer with the return of Fire Pit at two of its most iconic venues in Madeira. Between urban gardens and seaside settings, the gastronomic concept once again focuses on outdoor cooking, social gatherings, and celebrating local flavors through experiences that combine fire, music, and sharing.

At Terreiro, the gardens will come alive again on June 6 with an opening party marking the start of another Fire Pit season. Inspired by the spirit of traditional Portuguese festivals and the custom of gathering around the table, the event promises a relaxed atmosphere where fire takes center stage and dishes are prepared live over the grill.

The gastronomic offering brings together several guest chefs, who will present contemporary interpretations of Portuguese cuisine while highlighting local, seasonal, and sustainable ingredients. Complementing the smoky and intense flavors of the evening will be a selection of wines from AdegaMãe, while Heineken joins the event with refreshing drinks to toast the arrival of summer.

In addition to the food, Fire Pit at Terreiro will feature live music and DJ performances, extending the festive atmosphere into the night. The venue will also offer the “Fun for All” service, designed for families with children aged 2 to 12. Younger guests will be able to take part in recreational activities, workshops, cinema sessions, and games in the Children’s Playroom at Savoy Palace, while adults enjoy the gastronomic experience.

Meanwhile, at Saccharum, Fire Pit returns from May 22 to Calhau Beach Club, transforming evenings in Calheta into gatherings around fire and the ocean. Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 7:00 PM, the seaside sensory dinners will showcase fresh ingredients and regional Madeiran products in a four-course menu prepared live by the chefs.

The experience includes a welcome drink, starter, fish course, meat course (with vegetarian alternatives available), dessert, and coffee or tea. Throughout the season, Fire Pit will also feature guest chefs from several Savoy Signature properties, each bringing their own culinary interpretation to the concept.

The confirmed chefs include André Patrocínio from Calheta Beach on May 30; Sofia Gonçalves from Royal Savoy on June 27; Alejandro Nunes from Terreiro on July 25; Fernando Silva from NEXT on August 22; Renato Camacho from Savoy Palace on September 26; and Carlo Fernando from Gardens on October 24.
