The Views Hotels have prepared a wide range of experiences to celebrate Christmas and New Year’s Eve in Madeira, offering activities that span gastronomy and local culture throughout the month of December. The second season of the Residência Madeira project concludes on 9 December with an exclusive dinner at the Desarma restaurant, located on the 11th floor of The Views Baía. The event brings together Peruvian chef Mitsuharu “Micha” Tsumura, from the renowned Maido restaurant - considered one of the best in the world - Portuguese chef João Rodrigues, creator of the Matéria project, and chef Octávio Freitas, the host at Desarma. The evening promises a sensory journey that combines Madeiran produce with contemporary techniques, offering a gastronomic experience designed to surprise while giving diners the chance to closely observe the work of three leading figures in international cuisine, all against the backdrop of a privileged view over Funchal Bay.

On the night of 31 December, Desarma presents “The Last Surrender”, a New Year’s Eve dinner conceived as an immersive experience. Chef Octávio Freitas has created a six-course menu paired with selected wines, designed as the final meal of 2025. At midnight, guests watch Funchal’s firework display from the panoramic terrace while enjoying champagne. The celebration continues on the second floor with an open bar and late-night supper until four in the morning. The dinner is priced at €650 per person, with formal attire recommended and advance booking required.

At The Views Baía and The Views Oásis, Christmas and New Year’s Eve are celebrated this year under the theme of Madeiran wickerwork, highlighting one of the island’s most distinctive craft traditions. From 18 December until the end of the festive season, guests can take part in wicker workshops, demonstrations of traditional sweets and liqueurs, Madeira wine tastings, tours of Funchal’s Christmas lights and storytelling sessions. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day include a cocktail, live music and a gala dinner inspired by “Madeira Wicker”. On Christmas Day, the celebrations continue with a relaxed lunch at the pool bar and a comforting dinner reflecting Madeiran festive spirit.

New Year’s Eve at The Views Baía begins with a welcome reception in the restaurant hall, followed by a gala dinner and a privileged viewpoint over the firework display in Funchal’s natural amphitheatre. The party continues on the second floor with an open bar and supper served until four in the morning. This year also offers the possibility of celebrating with exclusive access to the “The Views Baía Rooftop Fireworks Exclusive Access”, an experience limited to just 50 participants between 11 pm and 1 am. The rooftop provides unlimited champagne, a selected open bar and a curated assortment of Madeiran snacks, making it one of the most exclusive spots to enjoy the fireworks. The celebration then continues in the cocktail bar until the early hours, with supper served at 1 am. All activities require advance booking and confirmation of availability.
