With Valentine’s Day approaching, Reid’s Palace in Funchal presents a selection of five programmes designed for different styles of celebration. The experiences extend throughout the weekend and combine gastronomy, live music and privileged views over the Atlantic Ocean.
The historic Madeiran hotel has prepared offerings ranging from relaxed moments to high-end dining experiences, inviting couples to celebrate love in distinct and sophisticated settings. One of the highlights is the special Valentine’s proposal at the 1891 Bar, featuring a tasting of mini cocktails paired with sweets and chocolates created especially for the occasion. This experience is available in two time slots, from 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm and from 9.30 pm to 11.00 pm, with live music and an elegant atmosphere, priced at €38 per person.
For Valentine’s Day dinner, Reid’s Palace offers two options. The William Restaurant, awarded a Michelin star, presents a fine dining experience composed of five courses, enhanced with special surprises for the occasion, at a cost of €190 per person, or €280 per person with wine pairing. Alternatively, Ristorante Villa Cipriani celebrates Italian flavours with a sharing menu designed for two, priced at €150 per couple, excluding drinks.
The celebration extends beyond 14 February, taking advantage of the fact that the date falls on a weekend. On 14 and 15 February, the hotel offers a special Valentine’s Day edition of its Afternoon Tea, one of Reid’s Palace’s most iconic rituals, served with freshly baked scones, live piano music and panoramic views, at €80 per person. As an alternative, couples may choose the Pool Terrace Brunch, also available on both days, which combines traditional Madeiran flavours with international delicacies, accompanied by live music in a sophisticated setting. This option is also priced at €80 per person and includes a welcome drink, soft drinks, water, tea and coffee.
