NEXT Hotel has drawn inspiration from Wicked, the film and musical that blends magic and witchcraft, to create this year’s New Year’s Eve concept. According to a press release from Savoy Signature, the Wicked New Year’s Eve Party promises to turn Funchal upside down, mixing mystery, irreverence, and the magnetic rhythms of Rayko – a Spanish DJ and producer who is a global reference in modern disco.

On the night of 31st December to 1st January, the hotel promises a "reinvented aesthetic". Deep green, enigmatic black, and magnetic gold meet sparkling pink, "creating a scenography as hypnotic as it is Instagrammable. From the lobby to the rooftop, NEXT transforms into an urban spell, where every corner is designed to surprise."

On arrival, guests will be welcomed by a “monumental” Christmas tree. This is no ordinary tree, but an artistic installation designed as a scenographic moment. Even the lifts will be transformed into “ready-to-post capsules”, illuminated in green and pink, transporting visitors between worlds.

The Network Restaurant is preparing the gala dinner, in a theatrical setting featuring tall candles, rose-tinted crystal, and dark-toned foliage. Meanwhile, the Recharge Bar & Restaurant goes neon, trendy and laid-back – ideal for those who prefer to celebrate informally.

The party peaks at the Cloud Bar, on the rooftop, where the decor includes illuminated metallic structures reminiscent of “magical potions”, while the bar becomes the perfect alchemy for toasting under the most spectacular fireworks display over Funchal Bay.

At 11:00 PM, six performers will combine dance, theatre and music in a three-act show that recreates the Wicked universe across the Recharge Bar & Restaurant, Network Bar and Cloud Bar rooftop – “guiding guests through a narrative of light, movement and pop witchcraft.”

The night continues with Rayko – Spanish DJ and producer, “a master at re-enchanting ’70s and ’80s disco with vintage drum machines and synths that shine like modern spells.”

The event kicks off at 7:00 PM, with three packages available:

·       Gala Dinner at the Network Restaurant – €215

·       Gala Dinner and access to the Rooftop Party (open bar & late-night supper) – €350 per person

·       Access to the Rooftop Party (open bar & late-night supper) – €190

All options include drinks.
