Between April and October, the former changing rooms that provided access to the sea at Reid's Palace, the Belmond Hotel, will be transformed. It will become Brisa do Mar, a seasonal restaurant that occupies a magnificent terrace with sea views.
The open kitchen is the stage for chef Zélia Santos' creations. Fresh fish, grilled meats, or a magnificent Shrimp Açorda are among the delicacies on offer. The seasonings include herbs grown by the hotel itself and the flavour is guaranteed.
Brisa do Mar offers dedicated service in an informal restaurant with guaranteed views of the sea and the bay of Funchal. Next to the restaurant, there is a lounge with a bar, where a cocktail menu takes centre stage.
The lounge and Brisa do Mar are a cool alternative for summer nights. You can hear the sea, feel the sea air, and hear the characteristic sound of the Cory's Shearwaters, a migratory bird that nests in the Madeira Archipelago and also has some nests in the ravines around Reid's Palace.
