The Art of Flavours Returns to Reid's

The 6th edition of the festival brings together Michelin chefs and new talents in Madeira.

In June, Reid’s Palace will once again host its The Art of Flavours festival, bringing Michelin stars and rising stars of European cuisine to Funchal Bay. José Diogo Costa, from William, will host this sixth edition, which promises to continue to surprise.

On the evening of 13 June, the Stars Dinner will serve as an arena for João Diogo Formiga (Encanto, 1 Michelin Star), Miguel Ángel Expósito (Retama, 1 Michelin Star), Rita Magro (Blind, 1 Michelin Star) and Thrainn Freyr Vigfusson (Ox, Iceland, 1 Michelin Star) to showcase their art in dishes that culminate in a dessert by Micheline Barbalho, from Kabuki. Portuguese wines will provide the counterpoint.

The second day will replace ceremony with party. At the Food Party, next to the pools, chefs including Madeirans Dário Freitas and Gonçalo Bita Bota will prepare more than twenty culinary stations while DJ Anya will perform sets ranging from disco to world music.
