On 7 March at 7:00 pm, Saccharum will mark the 10th edition of its Food & Wine Experience, a celebration that reinforces the hotel’s culinary identity, shaped by its close connection to the land, the sea and the traditions of Madeira.
The initiative will take place in Sala Melaço, a space where the memory of the former sugar cane mill meets a contemporary atmosphere. This commemorative edition offers an immersive experience centred on sustainability and on showcasing local, seasonal produce grown at the Savoy Signature farm in Meia Légua, a restored estate aimed at preserving traditional species and strengthening the link between origin and plate.
Under the theme “Six moments, one origin”, the menu features six creations, each incorporating a fresh ingredient sourced directly from the Meia Légua farm. Seasonal vegetables, aromatic herbs and endemic Madeiran produce are reinterpreted by Saccharum’s culinary team in an approach that prioritises freshness, creativity and respect for natural cycles.
Each course will be paired with wines selected in partnership with J. Alberto & Filhos. The evening begins at 7:00 pm in Galeria 1425 with a welcome cocktail accompanied by live music. At 8:00 pm, guests will move to Sala Melaço, where dinner will unfold in an engaging setting, also enhanced by live musical performances.
Designed to be shared as a family, the event also includes a dedicated option for younger guests. While adults enjoy the gastronomic experience, children may take part in a special dinner at Restaurante Engenho, featuring a welcome mocktail, a three-course menu and drinks included. A babysitting service for children aged between six months and two years is also available at an additional cost.
